Why Design Spec?
We handle the planning, the paperwork, and the technical bits. You get the space you’ve always wanted. Simple, fixed-fee architectural design for modern living.
Fixed fee architecture
It is as simple as it sounds. No additional charges for extra drawings, travel expenses, paper copies or any disbursements. No hidden nasties.
Unlimited designs
We’ll iterate your design as many times as you need. We’re committed to getting it right, so you can tinker with designs until you’re satisfied.
One-on-one management
You’ll have a dedicated project manager and contact details throughout the journey. We won’t leave you on read.
Architecture is broken.
We fixed it.
While the traditional studios rely on jargon and unpredictable hourly rates, we have rebuilt the process to ensure you remain in control of both your vision and your budget. We believe architectural design should be a transparent, fixed-price service that handles the technical headaches for you.
That means you can ignore the red tape and focus on the high-stakes stuff, like choosing where the kitchen island goes, or if you want to go for magnolia or neon pink in the hallway.

We improve homes
across the South East
We have spent years learning exactly how planning officers think across Essex, London, and the South East. As a result, we provide the kind of street-level insight that ensures your project doesn’t get stuck in a council paper-shredder.
Whether you are navigating a terrace in Colchester or a countryside build in Suffolk, our team handles the local red tape so you can stay focused on the actual build.
"We love the space, but we never really felt like we had the home we always imagined. Design Spec changed that within a week of our first meeting…”
